Winter Warmers (white)
This pack features (l to r):
(Brda, Slovenia) Atelier Kramar - Bohem 2017
Made from the local Tocai Friulano grape, this is a white wine with mouth-filling texture, gorgeous sweet spice and white peach aromatics, and a mineral finish that goes on and on and on. The wine sees three days of skin contact but doesn't pick up much colour. Bottled after 18 months in old barrels. A wine with a strong character but that stays fresh at 12% abv. A must-taste.
(Douro, Portugal) Folias de Baco - Vinhas Velhas Branco 2018
A blend of over 15 local and ancient white varieties all co-planted in a 80-yr old vineyard. The grapes are all vinified together and aged in old barrels. A beautifully textured wine with an array of fruit profiles, a delicate herbal edge, and a long spicy finish.
(Cinque Terre, Liguria, Italy) Possa - Cinque Terre 2019
Very unique blend of the hyper-local variety Bosco as well as Picabon, Barbarossa, and Rossese Bianco. Grown on steep cliffs at the water's edge. The wine sees 5 days of skin contact, and is aged in steel tanks and old acacia barrels. Vinified and bottled with zero additions, super pure and transparent. This medium/full bodied white has a gorgeous rounded texture, unique herbal edge, dense fruit, and a pronounced saltiness to reflect its provenance. Truly one-of-a-kind.
