Spanish Reds (3-pack)
This pack features:
(Ribeira Sacra, Spain) Silice Viticultores - Tinto 2020
From perhaps our current favourite wine region in Spain, this Mencia is a real charmer. Lightly extracted, wildly floral, notes of geraniums, rose petals, alongside bright red fruits and a mild savoury and mineral edge. Some people call Mencia Spain's 'Pinot Noir,' and it's easy to see why in this stunning wine.
(Navarra, Spain) Azul y Garanza - Naturaleza Salvaje Tinto 2021
Fantastic Grenache from an old single-vineyard located in the Bardenas Reales desert. The wine was made and aged in clay amphoras, and is lean but complex, pristine, pure, with gorgeous red and black fruits and a velvety texture. Stunner. Made by Maria, Dani, and Fernando, a dynamic trio who slowly converted an abandoned cooperative building in their village of Carcastillo to a fully operational winery. A huge commitment to biodiversity in the vines leads to wines of pronounced purity.
(Priorat, Spain) Lectores Vini - Priorat 2020
All the dark fruits and complexity that make Priorat one of Spain's premier wine regions, but without the excessive use of oak, the eye-watering alcohol levels, or the overblown styles that can sometimes be made here. Instead, we have a fascinating wine of freshness but that doesn't lose the structure that is to be expected from this hot and arid climate. The nose on this is bliss... Black cherries, rhubarb, crunchy red fruits and sweet spices.
