Possa - Rosé d'Amour 2019
(Cinque Terre, Liguria, Italy)
Truly one-of-a-kind rosé. 80% Bonamico and 20% Moscato Rosso, varieties that only exist in this tiny corner of Liguria in Italy's NW coast. Vines that almost seem to plunge off the cliffs into the deep green mediterranean water. This wine is vinified with zero additions and aged in steel tanks. Texture, salinity, very floral aromatics, and that extra 'Ligurian' touch that can only exist here... it's hard to describe, but you will know what we mean immediately upon tasting it. A stunner.
Made by Heydi Bonanini, one of only a dozen growers still working the insane slopes of the Cinque Terre, and keeping alive a tradition well worth saving. Wines that speak of their sea cliffs origins, of salty winds, of hyper local grape varieties, and pure clarity. A grower for whom biodiversity is not just an aim but a way of life.
