The Heavy Hitters
This pack features (l to r):
(Bugey, France) Domaine d'Ici La - La Croisette Altesse 2020
A brand new addition to our list, this Altesse from alpine vineyards is pure class. So refined, pure, elegant, lean and rounded. It has a proper mineral component, herbal notes, soft spice, and a saline finish. A wine that shows the huge potential of this young domaine.
(Mosel, Germany) Staffelter Hof - Orange Utan 2020
A zesty and aromatic bomb made from Riesling and Muscat. 6 weeks of skin contact and one year in very old and large barrels has given this orange wine a gorgeous texture, colour, and balance. Spices, citrus fruits, and flowers mingle with a mouthwatering acidity and serious drinkability.
(Cahors, France) La Calmette - Butte Rouge 2018
100% Malbec from the estate's most limited and prized parcel. Only the best and healthiest bunches of grapes are used here, they are fermented in concrete vats and aged in a 1000L 'foudre' for two years prior to bottling. This is a real 'Grand Vin' that over delivers on all fronts. Out of their three top cuvées it is the leanest in terms of density, and perhaps the most delicate. It has an undeniable mineral streak and tension, and a pronounced blood orange zestiness with a long and gratifying finish.
(Burgundy, France) Bourgogne Côte D'Or 'Les Vaux' 2019
A stunning top shelf red Burgundy. This Pinot Noir is vinified with 100% whole bunches, aged in barrels for one year, and bottled with zero additions. It is a generous wine that is drinking beautifully already, with layers and layers of flavour, fantastic depth of fruit, and a finish that goes on and on.
