Folias de Baco - Vinhas Velhas Tinto 2017
Regular price £24.00
A velvety red made from a 80-yr old vineyard where over 10 local varieties are co-planted, co-harvested, and co-vinified. The grapes are footstomped and fermented in old 'lagares,' and the wine is then aged for over three years in various old barrels. The result is wine with plenty of complexity and showing some early development, but with very fresh fruit still, and a real mark of where it is from. Lovely roundness and in perfect drinking condition at the moment.
Made by Tiago Sampaio, a grower who took over his Grandparents' vineyards and 2007 and has progressively become one of Portugal's most sought after natural wine producers.
