Domaine d'Ici La - Lithos 2023

(Bugey, France)

From alpine vineyards in Bugey, this Chardonnay is beautifully poised, linear, super mineral, and very terroir-driven. It has all the hallmarks of this variety but the altitude where the grapes are grown and the rocky, crushed limestone soils give it a serious edge, and a rounded salinity on the finish.

Young couple Florie Brunet and Adrien Bariol established Domaine d’Ici La  in 2017, enchanted by the rugged and mountainous landscape, the local grapes, and the possibility to make their mark on a lesser known appellation, yet one with immense potential as displayed throughout their range.
