A rare and highly sought after Chenin Blanc from Montbenault's now famous black schist terroir. This Chenin was aged in old barrels for one year and in bottle for an additional year. It is showing beautiful notes of ripe fruit cut by the lovely acidic backbone this grape variety is known for. Wildly complex, with a beautiful long finish. Serious stuff.

Made by Olivier Lejeune, a Lille native who lived and worked all over the world before finally settling in the Loire and coming across some prized parcels in the Montbenault region of Anjou. In the space of a few short years he has already established himself as one of my the most sought-after young producers in the region, and deservedly so.
