Chateau de Léberon - Armagnac Solera 2001
Château de Léberon is one of the most forward-thinking families in the Armagnac region, using only their own vines, natural fermentations, and innovative takes on old traditions.
So this incredibly unique Armagnac, usually reserved for family consumption, comes from a perpetual 'Solera' that was started in 2001 and is topped up year on year with young Armagnac, with a maximum of 10% of the reserve bottled each year. This allows for very direct, sweet, and clean fruit profile from the younger spirits, but with an incredibly smooth and balanced presentation on the palate, thanks to the long ageing in barrel.
If you enjoy the brightness and verve of a young Armagnac, but prefer the velvety texture of a longer-aged example, this one is for you.
