Le Cartel - Alicante-Henri-Bouschet 2021

(Languedoc, France)

A rare 100% Alicante Bouschet from 75-yr old vines grown at the sea's edge near the town of Gruissan in the south of France. A spicy medium bodied red with heaps of black fruit goodness, a silky texture, and a very moreish profile. 

Le Cartel is a collaborative project between our longtime friend and grower Fredi Torres and Jean-Remi Mourad, who decided they could not pass up the opportunity to work with a few stunning old-vine plots in one of France's most beautiful stretches of coast. They are currently working with vines that range from 60 to over 100 years old.
