La Niverdière - Resilience 2019
(Chinon, Loire Valley, France)
From a hallowed parcel of 75-year-old vines, Resilience is the pinnacle of the estates production. These tree-like plants in this jungle of a vineyard provide a tiny amount of fruit of the highest concentration and flavour, used to produce a layered, complex, and age-worthy wine. Here we are happy to present the fourth vintage 2019. A challending vintage, yet this is sure to go down as one of the greats. This wine is so immediate despite its density and its complexity. Softer than previous vintages, it is absolutely singing now though will undoubtedly go the distance as far as aging is concerned. Dense fruit, but very floral, delicate, deep layers of black fruits and spices galore. Drinking incredibly now, though will for sure reward those who can stash it away for a year or five....
A pure and energetic Cabernet Franc from one of the region's up and coming talents. Martine Budé's wines have such a distinct delicate touch, and are the epitome of purity. Juicy dark fruits with savoury notes, a soft structure, and a long spicy finish
