La Calmette - Résurgences 2020

(Cahors, France) 

A rare and wild expression of an appellation mainly known for its reds. This wine is a field blend of Noual (old ancient local variety), Chenin, Sylvaner, and Sauvignon. 

It has a bit of skin contact, and is aged in large foudre under flor for nearly two years.  It is at once reminiscent of some of the great Jura whites, whilst also conveying a singular expression of place and showing impressive complexity from its unconventional blend. A masterpiece. 

Domaine La Calmette was started in 2015 by Maya & Nicolas, a talented couple who bring not only a thorough knowledge of viticulture but also a meticulously researched scientific backbone to their natural wines. Explosive, bursting with life and vibrancy.
