Victoria Torres Pecis - Clarete Sur 2021

Stunning lightness of touch in this co-fermentation of red and white grapes grown on volcanic ash soils. This blend of Listan Blanco, Negramoll, and Listan Negro sees some very short skin contact and is aged in old barrels. Less than 900 bottles produced. Deeply coloured light red, juicy but wonderfully layered. 

Victoria Torres is one of the very few growers still producing wine on La Palma. The work is painstaking and the yields are minuscule, but the results are more than worth the effort. She makes wines that have it all - a strong sense of place, intense complexity, buckets of energy, and that little extra 'magic' that you can't learn or replicate.
